I was introduced to Shaklee in high school as I was beginning to do pentathlons. My mom, who has a Ph.D. in human nutrition, searched the sports nutrition market for the highest quality nutrition product, and it was she who recommended Shaklee to me. I’ve been with Shaklee now for about 20 years, and for the past 12 years I’ve been a professional-level pentathlete, having recently competed at the 2008 Beijing Games.
Over the years, Shaklee has been committed to fueling the success many professional athletes. In fact, Shaklee-powered athletes have won over 100 medals at both the summer and winter Games. This year, Shaklee even decided to create an entire roster of elite athletes. The Shaklee Pure Performance Team was born out of the desire to give America’s greatest athletes access to the greatest products. The athletes on this team are committed to excellence in competition and trust the purity of Shaklee products.
As elite athletes, we’re 100 percent responsible for what goes into our bodies. For this reason, one of the things I love about Shaklee is that they conduct 350 tests on every new ingredient for harmful contaminants, and they perform over 100,000 quality tests a year to ensure the greatest purity and potency possible. And that’s important to me, and to all the athletes on the Shaklee Pure Performance Team, as we strive to achieve excellence in a highly competitive environment.
As our team continues to grow, expect to see these athletes competing in the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia, and at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the meantime, we’ll continue to share stories and updates about the Pure Performance Team here on the blog and on our website as we count down to the 2012 Games in London. I invite you to check back often to learn about our new athletes and their accomplishments.
I’m proud to be Team Captain and to be leading this team, and I’m excited to watch and to celebrate in their success—I hope you are, too!
